Smokey Quartz relates to the Root chakra, which is about security and covering our most basic of needs. This is our soil, the earth from which we grow strong and allow ourselves to unfold.
 
This stone also stood out as being helpful in gently reducing psychological sexual blocks, which in turn, would allow for clearer expression and perhaps creativity.
 
When we have all of our most 'basic', yet utmost necessary, needs met (like food, shelter, warmth, community, healthy family bonds, etc), we are able to direct more energy into our purpose.
